Poison Trumpet

The trumpet flower vine is a pest in this area. It wraps itself around trees, telephone poles and anything else vertical. When you have horses, you make sure that none is growing in your pasture.

Not the prettiest of blossoms, but well taken. This is also an urban pest, but not as aggressive as Honeysuckle or Morning Glory.

Beautiful flower, but a pest none the less. Nice background and frame choices Lucy and the downward-pointing composition gives it a real trumpet feel.

Fascinating, I thought trumpet creeper was a native. I just checked and see that it was introduced in 1640. Guess that makes it more native than me. This is a really fine, in-your-face look at one of the blooms. Well done.

Yes, we have these too. Very pretty. . .but nasty! The previous owners of the house my daughter and family live in, had planted these along a fence. I helped them try to remove the plant when it got out of control. There were roots and offspring everywhere! And some STILL keep appearing. Good detailed look at the texture and design of this flower with a nicely blurred background. Great for the challenge, Lucy.
