Wild rose branch

These certainly are very invasive in our area! I am constantly pulling and digging them out of flower beds and other more wild areas on our property. However. . .I did find this branch appealing, and I thought worthy of a picture. So I brought it inside and put black velvet in the background. This was taken several years ago in the spring and previously posted on NPN.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/32 for 20 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, no flash but don't remember other lighting used.

Carolyn, you prepared, posed, and captured the subject beautifully. The lighting, black background, green border, and the details of the leaves and branch balance well to create a pleasant image. Well done.

Wonderful pure art on this image, Carolyn. The backdrop really has this one popping. Never heard of the plant / vein, but the thorns would sure imply rose plant sort of growth......

Back where you live it might be an invasive plant, here in So Cal I'm sure it's sold to the unknowing masses as a must have garden plant.....

The red stem "snaking"through the frame is wonderful and the greens are so luscious. The thorns are so nasty and it grows everywhere. Classic great shot of a nasty plant. Wonderfully done.

Wow, the velvet really shows off this plant well Carolyn. Like the diagonal composition a lot too; much more interesting than vertical and the woody stem sets off the lime green nicely.
