Wow! Love those eyes. Great shot with just enough habitat to make it really interesting.

Hey Jack,

I just love these guys - so cute and "delicate" - heck, next time I go to Churchill I think I'll just focus on these guys (rather than those bears!).

I like how the darker background assists in making the fox stand out. Some might find the grasses in front of the fox a bit distracting, but for me they add a bit of context and the power of the stare pulls my eyes to the fox anyway. I could be wrong on this, but to me it almost looks the the focus is just a tad in FRONT of the fox (the grasses appear a bit sharper than the fox). I think the vertical aspect ratio and crop work well here.

Cheers...

Brad

PS: Just a hint: you say "Comments, critique and suggestions always welcome" - if you DO want comments on your shots, I think it might help a bit to leave more comments on images of others...people do notice the post:comment ratio and tend to offer more constructive feedback to those who have a track record of being generous in leaving comments. Kind of a two-way street thing...

Jack,

These are very beautiful animals, you have a nice pose and the grasses are not at all distracting. I agree with Brad that it seems quite soft, is it a large crop?

I really like the low perspective and white fox against the darker background. I agree the focus seems to have caught on some of the near grasses, robbing you of some detail on the main subject.
