I always enjoy shooting sparrows and finches out on the prairie in the fall and winter. They don't stay put and pose for you long. It's a challenge to get close enough with a 300mm/1.4tele combo to get a decent shot. This was from Saturday where we had an absolutely wonderful fall day, probably the last one (at least one that will occur on a weekend). Thanks for looking!

Wonderful pose and perch, John. The reflection in the eye looks a bit odd, like the focus might have been off a trifle.

John, this is a very nice image. There are three aspects that I like most: 1) the colors of the sparrow and the bird match so well, 2) the bird's yellow lower beak contrasts with all other colors in the photo, and 3) how the bird's feet grasp opposite branches.

Great pose you captured of this sparrow, that perch is awesome. The large version is a pleasure to look at.

I like the funny pose, the light and the color palette. I probably would crop some off of the right. It does look a tiny bit OOF.

I like the look back pose, warm colors and perch. I might consider toning down the black areas towards the top left. This is a species we never see on the west coast, so thanks for posting, Dave
