Globe Thistle Revisited

Awhile back, I posted a shot of a purple globe thistle that I really liked. Today, I thought I'd post the seedhead from the same plant. I thought it was nearly as photogenic as the pretty bloom although the bg is a bit busy.

f/9 1/160 sec 45mm

Thanks for looking

very nice. I like this too. Especially nice, is the shiny, bronze finish to the spent petals. The "over-burned" BG really does bring out the bronze color nicely! Good touch.
The textures are terrific. Only thing I would add...would be to clone out just the tip of the petal, that runs out the top of the photo. I would not add any more canvas....but, I'd clone this tip to green to make it appear that the flower has not been cropped. :jump:

Nancy: I really like this. Its often difficult to make spent flowers look good but you've done it here. I agree with Lucy about fixing the small tendril exiting the top of the frame. I find it interesting how such a tiny detail gets one's attention. Really well done.>=))>

Very interesting, Nancy. Nice as is but feel these colors and textures would really stand out against a black background. Nicely seen and captured.

Beautiful textural study, Nancy ! The centre is wonderfully detailed, and the shades of colour in the outer areas are very well handled.
