Pretty little bird in it's frequent habitat!
You have some really nice detail and true colours here. The mussel in the beak is a great addition.
The image would have been improved if you had been able to get a lower eye-level perspective and more of a profile or head-turn view - but quite nice as is!
Sandy.

I agree with Sandy about the point of view. I understand that it is not always possible to get to the eye level of the subject, but if you can, you will find that it will radically improve wader (shorebird) photography.

Nice crisp image, Bill, and I like the mussel bed bg. A bit of a head turn toward you would have been a bonus, but they don't always cooperate. This does look like you were shooting down at a fairly steep angle-I don't know the terrain where you shot this, but a lower angle would have been nice.

Nice shot. I like the mussel bed BG. I agree with others about the low angle if it was possible. A little more of a head turn toward the camera would have helped also.

Nice species, and great to have it amidst it's food - image yourself standing between thousands of burgers  . Agree with the others about the POV - although not always possible.. for the rest - fine as posted ! Cheers, Hans
