We recently had our first decent snowfall in northern Idaho, and I set out to see what I could find. As the sun eventually broke through the storm clouds it hit the wet forests, and steam rose amazingly quickly off them into the sky.

Love, love, love. The trees look slightly tilted to the right, maybe a little straightening would be in order. Very minor though. Wish this were mine Thomas! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Pretty dramatic and I agree about a bit of CCW rotation.
1/5000?
It must have been really bright.

Thanks Joseph, no better compliment than that! I see the tilt to the trees and will correct it, thanks. Yeah Dan it was really bright. The sun was just out of the frame and I had to block it out with my hand to keep it from washing out the photo. Thanks for all the feedback.

Ah, really nice image. Such a magical moment and it doesn't often last long. Glad you caught it, and presented nicely in BW. I find a slight crop off the top works better for me, maybe keeping the image more in line with the sweeping trees. :toast:

lovely atmosphere and drama. after you've adjusted the tilt, I'd experiment with cropping the very bright area from the top ....
