Finally got some clouds after a long stretch of blue skies. Saw this pool starting to light up and couldn't resist. The morning light really lit up the black rocks nicely. Difficult scene to process so I'm interested in your thoughts.

The processing looks great in my opinion, excellent composition, color and reflective light. Beautiful scene Bill.

I love the sheen of the rocks but can still see all the cracks, crevices of the rocks. Everything works for me in the pic. Nice job all around.

That green pool and the yellow reflection on the rocks really complement each other! Love this one Bill!

Really like that gold bouncing across the water and rocks. Probably an optical illusion but the right horizon seems a hair higher than the left.

I couldn't resist this either, Bill... A very interesting scene and very well done. Great sky and reflections with some very cool looking rock formation. Processing looks very good to me!

The golds and blues go well with each other. And the texture visible in the larger image is most pleasing.

I would have to add that I think the color of the yellow area has a bit of a green tint to it, which I would expect to be more golden. I've noticed the D800 tends to render highlights like this. My D800 was usually off on the tint just a little towards the green, which needed to be corrected in RAW conversion.

Minor nit, but would be an easy fix. Still a great image! :toast:

The light and textures on the rocks is simply outstanding, Bill. I can see why this scene caught your eye. The large version is a visual treat.

Bill, the almost-emerald green and gold complement each other well, and the sheen on the big rocks is appealing. It is well-composed as well. This is a nice image.

That's a great sky and reflection. The rocks look positively metallic and the green pool in the foreground makes a great focal point.

WOW, the first thing that caught my eye here Bill was the emerald colored tide pool. Almost looks like a caldron of some sort. Be a wild looking print I'm sure of it.

I love the rocks, not so sure about the sky color, interesting but a bit too yellow for me.

A beautiful composition, and very nice processing. If I could make one negative observation, it's that the gold reflection in the water looks a little artificial, or maybe too contrived. However, I simply love the processing on the rocks.

Yeah, I would call this irresistible, too. That pool is amazing, as well as the golden light on the rocks. My only nit is that I would expect those golden reflections, and that specific part of the sky from where it comes, seems a bit muted and cool. I would expect it to pop more, with hotter, saturated colors, maybe more on the red/yellow side. That's just a small thing that in my eyes might make a fine image even more powerful. Of course, I wasn't there (too bad for me), so you have to be the judge.

The large version shines Bill, and I love the texture and shape of the rocks, the foreground pool with the emerald tint, the reflection of the sunset, and the actual sunset completes this stunning image. :toast:
