I'm not sure I should post this among all the outstanding autumn color the site is sporting right now but my seasons have moved on and winter is here. Early morning, before the wind kicked up to blow the branches bare. thanks for looking.

I am about ready to go enjoy a nice fall day here, and I see this and it reminds me oh how beautiful winter is, and that it will be here soon!! I really enjoy this classic view of pines covered in a beautiful snow blanket Nancy, nice work.

Nancy Lea, A beautiful winter scene and like Ryan it makes me think about why I enjoy winter. It won't be long now and we will be seeing scenes like this too. Very pretty!

A beautiful winter scene. I think I can see a bluish sky behind; might be interesting to bring this out more for contrast with the white snow.

Pretty scene Nancy, I think I mentioned it before, love the snow on the pines, really like the quiet peaceful mood of a forest covered in snow. Very tranquil.

Your version of autumn color is a bit stark, Nancy Lea. The details in the larger version are great and that's an amazing amount of snow clinging to the branches.

Nice to see the snow. Finally down in the 80's here. Around 60 at night. I do miss a good snowfall.

1) crop out sky. 2) turn to B&W 3) print and enjoy,

Not many things are prettier than tall conifers covered in snow, so I don't mind the preview of winter at all. (I still need to get out and see the remaining leaves on red oaks, and maybe even some clinging golden tamarack needles, but I would not be disappointed at all to see a scene like this one morning soon.) The subtle colors are nice, and help separate the sky from the snow, but this might also make a good B&W image with the use of color filters in the conversion.

P.S. Just noticed Stan's comment. Unlike him, I like the treetops too much to cut them off.
