Your front yard?? You must live in a church or fairyland or similar!
Beautiful as a BW, since the photo is all about the beams and they show so well here.

Lucy, This is really cool looking. The b&w works great and those beams of light are wonderful! Your comp works very nice too.

Love it! Placement of the sun is perfect, and the whole works great as a B+W.

Love your yard! This is excellent, in color it must look like a cathedral window.

The B+W really highlight the beams, and you have captured this scene beautifully Lucy. This image has that beautiful contrast that b+w need to work so well.

Thank you all for the feedback. I depend on you as my barometer. We live on a 1000 foot ridge surrounded by redwood trees and Douglas firs. And yes, John, it does often feel like a church to be surrounded by this kind of nature. Really a blessing.
I've been looking at the morning light through these trees for years and tried to capture it a couple of times, but I guess this one was the charm.
Btw, First October refers to the first October without my husband of nearly 40 years, who died in August.

Wonderful beams and composition Lucy. The B&W processing looks really well done and suits the scene perfectly. Great job.
