Bedwell Reflections

Arrived too early for peak fall colors but I found this peaceful scene along the Bedwell River in Strathcona Park. I Liked the amazing number of greens in the scene and the start of color.

Perfect processing for dynamic range. I like how the red trees are respecting each other's personal spaces.

Peak colors or not, this is great! Maybe I would have preferred a 50/50 comp, but this is great as well. Especially the scattered orange trees are very nice.

A little bit abstract and very beautiful. if you rotated it 90 degrees, it would look like a Christmas tree. (:

The touches of color against all those greens works very well. The perfect reflection is also a fine addition. I like your comp., which really emphasizes the colors and textures.

This is a very striking image, Bill. I really like all the repeating shapes of the trees and the various shades of green, all complimented by the first changes of autumn color. I also like your processing for this scene.

The early colors are often the most interesting, with such variety -- the rich greens making the yellow, orange and red leaves all the more showy. The mirror reflection and layer of amber shore vegetation make a nice comp, topped off nicely by including the whole trees.

Beautiful photo with a painterly feeling! The composition is well layered, although a tiny bit more room above the dark coniferous trees in the top left would be even better.

Love the variety and lushness of tone in the greens and how the autumn colors almost appear as tongues of fire interspersed amongst the green. Fantastic refection as well and your composition is spot on with the evergreens in the upper left and the line of the shoreline. Maybe not at peak autumn color but this is flat out superb in my opinion, Bill.

Bill, this is gorgeous. My gosh, both this and Vance's scene from Alaska have amazing reflections in them. The variety and beginning of fall color in this capture really adds to this wonderful scene. Very nice work here. :toast:

This is a fantastic image Bill. I just love all the different layers of color! And as others have mentioned, the red foliage make perfect accents. Wonderful!

Not peak, but no loss. The varied green really sets off the color that is there, and the reflection is pristine!
