The Spiders Lair

Folks,

Three weeks later, and three shoots later, I still havent been able to get the story right within the frame. The umbrella web and the prey. Above the web, there are about three balls of web, which I presume is that of prey wrapped.

In this particular frame the spider(id?) i seen wrapping a little prey, with that string of silk.

The location is a bit awkward and cannot get a better angle to tell the story. The leaves have webs attached.

7D, 70 200 with extn tube,

Thanks NPN for the support,.

Balan Vinod

I think this image tells it very well, Balan. Expertly captured. The detail in the spider is superb. :toast:

Very nice, Balan! The colors in the background add a lot to the image. The detail and composition is excellent. Well done!

Wow Balan, this is great. I love the details of the webbing and the spider is amazing. Great color. Maybe a panno would work to better position this "to tell the story" but I like the slight mystery in the bottom and you would lose some of the netting. Cool shot.

This is an excellent look at this little spider, especially with those individual threads of webbing reaching up from the arch of the main web. The oof colors in the upper right are a nice addition as well. I do find myself wishing that the spider was a bit lower in the frame and I expect that's what you're referring to as not quite right. You can get some of that by cropping from the bottom and the right while keeping the web arch in the lrc.

Balan, Good details in this beautiful specimen. The colors in the background complement the diagonal composition very well. Excellent shot.
