White Admiral Dew Drop

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted October 27, 2013233 views11 comments
I captured this White Admiral early one morning with a dew drop when we had some heavy dew here in Virginia. It took about a minute to move slowly into position so I would not scare it off.
Canon 5D MKII, 100mm macro @ 100mm, 1/40sec, f/16, iso100, handheld, elbow propped on deck railing. Cropped for composition.
C&C welcome

Unique image with the water filled proboscis, wish I owned one like this David
The 'Dew Drop' provides a wonderful focal point with its inverted skyline.
I might remove a speck or two upper right corner to make it better..
Excellent capture! :toast:

David, there is so much to admire about this image: the butterfly, the dew drop, and the subject is in focus. Well done.
