Intimate Forest

A complex forest scene from Oak Creek Canyon this past Tuesday. I was drawn to the dark tree trunks against the colorful autumn leaves. I'm pretty content with it as is, but am open to any thoughts you may have.

Nice combination of tones and colors Peter. I might try to find a tad more detail in the trunks but that's just me. Nice job avoiding intruding branches.

Wow, this is beautiful. Excellent composition and amazing color throughout. I really need to add this to my ever growing list of fall color destinations. This is definitely not the first thing most people think about when they think about Arizona. Amazing stuff, Peter!!

I think it works perfect as it is Peter! Nice work finding a simple yet effective comp in such a complex scene.

Nice arrangement of dark trunks and patches of color. One thing that is noticed is blue in the trunks, especially in the upper left one.

This is a knock-out Peter. Grand color and the dark trunks really add to the scene.

Thanks everyone!

Bob, there is still plenty of detail in the print version in those trunks. For whatever reason this doesn't show well in the small web version.

Doug, I see what you mean about the blue in the trunk. I'm pretty sure that is the blue gray colored canyon wall behind me that was reflection onto the trees. I liked the color it added to the scene but may have to pull back on that section a bit.

Hi Peter :wavey: I like the interesting shapes of the trunks balanced by the patterns of delightful autumn color.

Another lovely fall image on here. Excellent color, light, and I like the graphic quality of the dark tree trunks. My nit would be for the comp to not have the pine tree limb in the urc, or the intruder from the left side either, but both are not deal breakers as the rest is strong enough.
