Young Sable

If I had to make a definite choice I would have to say Sable are my favourite Antelope, but I have not seen everything

But getting a good image of these can be very difficult because of their colours in particular the dark eye surround

This youngster is making a hasty exit from Kennedy 2 Waterhole, Hwange National Park , Zimbabwe
Please excuse the background, this has resulted from the interference of "environmentalists"!

Ken, nice photo. I am impressed with the sharpness and lighting. You mentioned the background which is a bit distracting. Good one.

Very nice indeed. Everything is sharp. Still have lens envy. (smile)

Really nice action image. That lens is really showing its chops with great details. However, there are those spots extreme right, midway down that is either dirt kicked up by the subject, or something on the lens. I can't decide so I though I would mention it.

Nice clean shot Ken. The colors of this species are very nice as are those huge horns, and I can see why you they are a fav of yours. I don't mind the background, but then I don't know exactly what you are referring to ...environmentalists?

Ken, that's sharp as hell and flattering light....but your right, the background is a manipulated waterhole disaster. I'll give you a pass to add some blurr back there:) Man, those Sables are beautiful.

Excellent exposure of a beautiful subject. Given the bright light, I think it would have been enhancement for enough space to include all the shadow (and space to run into).

Thanks for the comments.
I should explain my "environmentalist" comment. All waterholes in Hwange are pumped, this unfortunately adds lots of noise to video, this waterhole was sucessfully pumped for many years by a Lister, the environmentalists decided that this was not "green" and installed a monstrous solar panel, which not only looks ugly, but is totally incapable of keeping water kevels up to any decent standard,

Lon,
I am still getting used to the idea that I can zoom out
