Elephant Conga Line

I'm trying this panoramic crop of a line of elephants crossing the Zambezi River near hte border of Botswana and Zimbabwe this past July. During the dry season thousands of elephants gather between Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park along the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers. It was a real treat to see them coming to the river then snorkeling their way across. This group was emerging on the banks of a lush island in the middle of the river.

Appreciate any C&C, thanks for looking!

This is "Hot-Hot-Hot".. This was meant to be a pano with that line of elephants! I like that they are moving and kicking up some water as they progress.

I would call it pretty darn cool!

My only nit (very small) is that the birds on the left are "cut" by the edge of the frame...and if this is not full horizontal, you might be able to stretch that side for better effect. I really like the splashing.

Joseph,

I like this, took me some time to figure out where you took this, but then I remembered you visited Imbabala.
Do you have any wider?

I like the way they are all walking in a line, and splashing water as they move. You can see how wet their bodies are after the crossing.

Nice procession here Joseph. I like the skimmers on the island on the left too. Can't wait to be back in the Chobe area in March!

Thanks so much for all the feedback folks! Ken is correct, we stayed at Imbabala which is a small, private concession on the Zimbabwe side of the border with Botswana. For folks who would like to visit the Northern Chobe area but aren't keen on the crowds, Imbabala is a nice alternative.

Unfortunately, this is as wide as I have and the "skimmer sandbar" was quite large so I didn't really have a way to get all of the skimmers in the shot. Thanks again for the kind words, it was a lot of fun to watch the elephants swimming the river.
