Conboy Lake
by John Williams
It can be challenging to catch Mt. Adams exposed, with clouds for interest, during fall color. The color isn't quite peaking yet, and the clouds were all to the left of the mountain by the time the best cloud/mountain color developed. I preferred this earlier photo, when the fore/mid ground colors were very rich. I've kicked up the saturation in the sky relative to the trees and grass to add a bit more balance.
The National Wildlife Refuge is closed, but you can still drive the roads that run through the refuge.

Edit: I forgot to mention; I cloned out three strands of distant powerline that ran across the scene about where the trees meet the foothills.
