The leg was brought to the cub by Mum, it then proceeded to practice its climbing skills. For Obvious reasons the face was not very visible during the climb, this was about as good as it got.

Action is great but the POV marginalized the effect.
Makes me wonder, how just one element in photography can mar the scene.

Interesting behavior shot. I, too, long to see the little guy's face.

Ken, as pointed out not an ideal vantage. However its still a great action shot and tells a good story. :toast:

I think this is a great behavior shot Ken....I've never seen a cub practicing climbing with cargo. Usually, the meat is delivered to the cubs on a silver plater (limb) Stands to reason that dragging a dead animal of equal or greater weight to your own, vertically up a tree and clinched in your teeth, takes practice...who'd a thunk it.

Very neat to add this to the series of photos depicting the hunt and aftermath drama. Awesome capture of kitty struggling to drag his first kill up a tree. I'm sure one would never forget this event but having the photos is too good!

While agreeing that point of view diminishes some artistic value, we should never forget the power of good documentary images. This is the kind of capture that can be crucial in a series, showing an action sequence.

Now that's cute. Pity about the face but you don't need eye contact in every shot...though an eye slightly visible at least would have taken it up a notch. Savute again?

Morkel,
Thanks, I am sure you would agree that the eye is more likely to be visible on the way down, this was taken in Khwai Community.
