A hoverfly on the sepals of a five petalled white flower which I don't know. Have tried cropping this every which way but settled for a landscape view with the coloured bg.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 200mm, 1/500 @ f8, - 0.67ev, ISO 400, hh.

Excellent macro of the fly. The white OOF layers are a bit heavy handed. Did you try a pano crop?

I like the head on perspective and the overall presentation, Ian. I first looked at this earlier today at my monitor at work (as I usually do during the day), and agreed with Phil regarding the whites. However, on my home computer, the colors look good and the light well controlled with nice subtle shadows and subdued lighter areas at the top and bottom.

Good color & sharpness of eyes, Ian. I wonder if you have the detail to try an even tighter crop.
