Horse Thief Ranch

I attended a short workshop with John Fielder late last fall. The location hosting the workshop was incredible - a private ranch right on the Colorado River, overlooking beautiful canyon views. The property was one being preserved by the Mesa Land Trust, and I feel lucky I got to walk around this amazing place that not many folks get to see. They do still run cattle on the property, as well as grow hay. We happened to be on this little stretch when the sunrise broke out, and we all enjoyed the beautiful golden glow of late fall on the grasses.

Absolutely stunning Angela! I swear I've seen this scene before here on NPN, did you post this capture (maybe a different time of year?). Or someone else, it looks so familiar. Never the less the light and colors here are exquisite. Thanks for sharing it.

This is quite lovely, Angela! Very nice comp with the leading lines of the road and fence on the left, leading to the mountains in the background. The tan colors really work well with the blue sky and the lighting gives the whole scene a special glow. Well done.

Stunning light Angela, and the composition lends itself nicely to a very painterly feel. I like it very much

Love this view and the golden everything here, Angela. The fence line does a perfect job of leading us down this dirt roadway deeper into the scene. Nicely thought out capture.
Good to hear John is out and about doing the photo thing still.....

Very nice landscape, Angela! The light is great the exposure is just right and you used the fence to the best advantage in your composition. It has lots of depth and pleasant mood. Well done.

How neat to spend a day (or two) with John Fielder. The light here is lovely and the leading lines of the fence and road work wonderfully. The color contrast between the warm grounds and the chilly sky is a terrific addition.

Love the fall colors and the brooding skies Angela. Great invitation to take a drive down the lane along the old fenceline.

Lots going on here and very well composed. Congrats on the WP.
