Deadhorse Point State Park, Utah

This was taken on a very chilly morning the day after Christmas. An absolutely epic sunrise, one of the best I've ever experienced with the clouds lighting up over most of the sky. And I had it all to myself. This is not the iconic view, which is just off to the right, but I couldn't pass up the great clouds in this direction. Please view large for better detail. Any critiques would be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you decided to forego the iconic view and go with your emotions on this one. Beautiful sunrise with gorgeous colors in the sky and the land. There's a ton of detail in the landforms and my eye just wanders around wondering what caused this or that. But in the end it's the colors in this image. Not over the top but just a beautiful array of natural color.

I am not familiar with "the iconic view" but this one looks pretty classic to me. The sky is amazing, but that's not all that makes this work. The red morning light also works wonders on the layers of rock; and speaking of layers, there is just enough "atmosphere" to enhance the sense of depth in the distance. The road in the fg, pointing to the sunrise also adds to the perspective.

Glorious sky and the pastels on the landscape are very nice too.
