Early summer in Glacier N.P., this nanny simply stepped around the bush and presented herself. The close proximity was a pleasant surprise as the mountain goats in my part of Utah are very skitterish consequently requiring the carrying of a big lens above 10,000 feet.

Brad, good reaction to the surprise goat. I do wish there was more detail in the snow in the BG, but you have detail in the shadows on her, which is where it really counts. I had a similar experience years ago on Mt. Evans, only I was more surprised than the goat and did not get near as good photo as yours. Thanks for sharing.

The coat becomes a focal point and is telling of season. I think you did a good job of exposure with lots of contrasty challenges to work with.
