Sony A700
Minolta 24-85 @ 26mm
ISO 200, 1/8 @ f8
Wotan's Throne, GCNP

This is from my trip to the north rim of GCNP last year. As it turns out this was the last frame taken with my A700 before it suffered a major camera error. I went on to buy an A77 but anticipating a trip this October I decided to see if my old faithful could be repaired to serve as a backup. I got it back from the Sony service center today and it seems to be working perfectly. New gear is great but having an old friend in the bag is sure nice. All comments welcome. >=))>

I like this image a lot. It has strong composition, but for me, I would like just a bit more detail in the background--I think it may give the image a grander feel. Nice job.

Bill, you caught some very nice light here, I especially like the color of the cliffs, along with your composition. Glad everything worked out with your Camera. Great job.

Nice to see you back in Landscape gallery Bill. This is lovely. Having never seen the Grand canyon, this gives me a better idea of what the terrain is actually like than some of the grand scenic images. I like that.

What makes this for me is that background. It gives it depth, and adds so much to the whole image. It seems a little dark down in the front and lower right, but that may be my monitor.
For me, it was seeing that BG........ :toast:
