I was really excited when I found this scene because of the curvature of the grass. It was early in the morning and eventually the mantis started cleaning the dewdrops off itself.

The curving grass makes for a very pleasing composition. I'd like to see a larger version and also color, just for fun!

Very cool and artistic capture, Thomas. Amazing, really. Looks like the mantis is performing in an insect circus. I like the B&W conversion because of the form, but I also would be interested in seeing the original pre-converted image. :toast:

Thanks for the input you all! I haven't been able to find how I can post a larger version so long after the original post, but if I'm missing it let me know, and I intend to post larger versions in the future. The original looks nearly B&W, with the only color being in the green of the mantis, and a little orange in the background.

Lovely curves indeed, Thomas. The Mantis adds a great focal point to the grasses. Well seen and captured.

Beautiful composition and BW fits very well here. I wished that the background was uniform black but this shot is still very strong as it is.
