Thank you for your comments on my recent Cascade Creek image!

Lon and I were wandering around in El Capitan Meadow one morning last November where I found this intriguing detail of bark and char on a huge Ponderosa Pine.

Very pleasing Preston like the colour and the pattern and an easy one to print.

I love the color of the ponderosa but don't find the blacks as appealing. Also not sure about the right side where the fire scar runs out of the image. good effort but comes up short for me. Chet

The framing of the char lines over the rich reds really makes this image flow.

nice one preston. i wonder how it would react to bringing up the blues in the charred areas just a tad? this might allow a good interplay between the colds and the lovely warms that you already have ...??

Perfect as presented Preston, lots of fine detail, natural color, and the comp works beautifully.

It looks like the bark was doing its protective job. Interesting patterns. With a black matte, I think the black edge on the right won't be as noticeable, if you did not crop.
