This wren was protecting his nest from some sparrows and spread his wings to look more threatening. There was a nesting box about 100 ft. away and I assume that is where his nest was. Taken with Canon 7D, 10-400 IS lens, F8, ISO 400, 1/500 sec.

Nice, Patricia. Great pose and the head is sharp. I like the perch and bg, though I think I'd run a bit of noise reduction on the bg and perhaps sharpen the bird a bit more.

Patricia, the raised slightly blurred wings and upward look implies that she/he is excited about something above. Creates a nice story and artistic statement. Well done.

Nice post Patricia. I like the composition, the pose and the motion of the feathers. Perhaps a tad increase with the contrast and color ( tweaking the red) might pop the image out. However the soft compositions works beautifully too.

Nice image! I like the action pose you captured. The pose strikes me as a begging for food one. Would this be a youngster out of the nest? Just wondering. Thanks for sharing.

Love the blurred wings here Pat, I would run some noise reduction on the bg. :toast:
