I was out at the local nature area at sunrise this morning. Cool and pleasant. There were some clouds, so the soft lighting stayed longer today. I found a group of 6 deer feeding on acorns under a large oak. There were twins fawns in the group. This particular one, while shy at first, became bolder and came closer so I could get a few good photos. Unfortunately, many of them had protruding vegetation in the wrong place. But this one was clear and I like the expression on his/her face. Looks like it's smiling. The original was too dark so I added a full stop in RAW and warmed up as the light at the time had a blue cast to it. This looks more natural now. This is full frame and I'm happy to say I didn't have to clone anything out. It's pretty much as is. Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Peter, really like the soft lighting in this one, suits this youngster. She is very pretty, I might try brightening up the face slightly to better accentuate the details there. The composition works quite well, but personally I would crop a little more from the top and right side; one of those situations I think that enforcing the rule of thirds would work ie. putting her face into one of the "power points" with a tighter crop.

Peter, thanks for giving me the go ahead to post a photo of what I was suggesting. I wanted to give it a try myself to see if the changes would be helpful or not.

Looks pretty good to me, Gary. Subtle changes in which I had to go back and forth to see them. They didn't jump out (other than the tighter crop). Always a pleasure to learn.
