This is a very well-executed image. I like the sharpness. I like the aperture. I like the out-of focus highlights. The back-lighting is sublime. My only nit is that I need to get out in my yard and fight this stuff off before I am overgrown by it. It seems to be even coming out of my computer screen.

Great job seeing the beauty in the ordinary, Charlie! What really makes this special to me is the backlighting and the lovely bokeh in the background. That lighting accentuates all the great details such as the veins, thorns, hairy stems, spider webs, and leaf design. Not sure how I feel about the OOF leaf. . .comp would be off without it and to close your aperture for more sharpness would mess up the lovely background. Maybe if that leaf was darkened a bit it would help keep our focus on the more sharply focused leaves at the top?

This stuff even grabs my pants leg as I walk past it. But this weeks challenge gave me a reason for using it.
Carolyn you've gone through my entire thought process on those oof leaves.

Entrancing light, Charlie - love the circular highlights in the bg. There's a real feel of being there at a particular moment about this image.
