Double Arch

I know that this is an often visited location, and just as often shot, but usually from below. I decided to wait until the last person had left the area, as stormy skies threatened overhead, late one evening. No exciting lighting (or lightning!) happened, but after spending much of the day dodging people along the trails to the various formations, it was genuinely delightful to end the day alone under this massive structure.

This is a stitch of 3 vertical images. I did take significant liberty with road/car/building removal, so purists may want to skip this one.

Thanks for your feedback!

I like 90% of this shot. unfortunately, the 10% kills it. I'll state my case: as you point out, it's an often photographed spot, and demands pefection to rise above the crowd. Arches are all about balance, so anything that tips that is not good. It's an eye magnet. That little sliver of blue and the fg rock kissing the bg arch adds unecessary tension. Unecessary, cause a short step forward or back might have avoided it. Been there, done that, all too often. And i aint a purist

Stan, thank you for the feedback. Perhaps what drew me to this comp originally was the disequilibrium, knowing that it probably wouldn't appeal to all folks!
