The Pounce

This is the next frame of the young cub I posted earlier hiding behind a log. It's easy to see the future hunter in this youngster. This version is cropped for a vertical orientation and to remove some foreground; I also have a horizontal version with the OOF target that I'm not too sure about but will post later to see what other think about. C&C are always appreciated....thanks for looking!

Nice photo, James. His/her head is looking quite adult but the body is still lagging behind. Certainly conveys a sense of action and not just a casual stroll. Focus is right on and only begins to soften at the tip of the tail. Lighting is a bit harsh but I think you've minimized that pretty well. The only nit I have is that the habitat doesn't say Africa. Could be almost anywhere.

Interesting pose; I like that hunter's look as well and the diagonal made by the tail and the front leg across the frame help to make this compositionally interesting.

Hmmmm, wouldn't this be the "Pre-pounce", kind of the loading phase that comes before? Whatever, this is a very cool composition, so well balanced and dynamic. As in the previous image, love the gold and brown colors. You must mean 1/2500 sec?
