Fire Spokes

This close up photo of a Gaillardia pulchella flower is called "Fire Spokes" since one of the common names for this wildflower is Firewheel.

I picked this flower from my yard and made the image in a makeshift 'studio' using morning light through a window augmented with a sun lamp. I did this to have complete stillness, since there is rarely a complete absence of wind here during daylight hours.

C&C welcome.

Good texture and definition. I also like the choice of a quarter flower for a composition.

Paul - Welcome to the Flora Gallery  .

Great first post - whatever you did seemed to have worked very well. I really like the punchy colors and the textures in the petals !
