Falling Star

This helenium had fallen away from a bunch of them in a herbaceous border. It seemed to light up the greenery surrounds.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 100mm, 1/40 sec @ f9, ISO 640, hh, some Color Efex blur.

Superb work, Ian. Red and green always works great for me. And, the dof is perfect! :toast:

Ian, an excellent idea for the horizontal format. A flower full of details, with splendid colors. I love it.
Take care.

Good use of the contrasting colors and soft bg, Ian. I also like the position of the flower in the frame.

The large version is compelling. Red and excellent light...snappy details in the center. ... perfect selection of dof. I gotta think you had to hand-hold for this...and hat-tip to you for having held it steady at 100mm for 1/40... Wow!

Ian: Aptly titled and superbly composed and captured. Really good DOF control and a very pleasing overall color palette. >=))>
