Wild Bouquet

Living in drought stricken West Texas it's not often that I have much to post in this gallery.

This is from a recent trip to Southern Wyoming. This group of wildflowers was growing along a small stream along the trail and I thought it made a nice bouquet.

All honest comments and critiques are welcome. :wavey:

Capture info:
50mm
f8 @ 1/160 sec.
ISO 2000  (due to windy conditions and low light)

Processing info:
S-curve for global contrast
Tony Kuyper's Vibrance and Saturation masks
A pinch of Tony Kuyper's Make-it-glow

This could probably use more DOF but due to the low light and windy conditions I didn't feel that I could afford to stop down any more. I guess I need to learn how to do focus blending.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Brian - I am OK with the DOF here as I am looking for assortment, patterns and groupings. Well seen and really like the use of complementary Blues and Yellows.

Only small suggestion I have is to burn the leaf slightly right of center touching the bottom edge or crop a bit from the bottom.

A very nice assortment of colors and flowers, Brian. Ram's suggestion is good as always. The dof looks good to me, too, and the large version has very nice detail. Well done.

Very nice image of these wildflowers, Brian. Your ss did the trick as the flowers look sharp to me. Like Ram, I really have no problem with the slight dof fall-off in the back flowers. The blue and yellow flowers make a fine comp.

A lovely patch of flowers, Brian. I like the patterns of different colors in the image. The dof works for me.

No nits about the DOF! I like the subdued colors & the way the flower groupings flow diagonally through the frame.

A very nice grouping of flowers! The diagonal angle of the color groups makes this image a pleasure to view! Sharon

Love how you've filled the frame with colour, Bryan - the image is beautifully composed, with some fine detail in the fg. Just lovely to look at !!

Thanks for the encouraging words and feedback. I hadn't noticed the bright leaf - I'll definitely work on that!! I have a few more to post so once I get them processed. I do tend to get stuck in the landscape forum but I'll try to drop in more often. I have tried recently to look at the all images view so that I don't stay in just one forum. :wavey:

Hi Brian, the DOF does not bother me. Very good image quality for ISO 2000. A nice combo of colors here and a lovely group of wildflowers.
