All for the lack of a fire extinguisher..

This fire started as a small kitchen fire in the RV, and could have quickly been extinguished. Their fire extinguisher was outdated and non-functional. By the time the firefighters arrived, the RV was totalled, and the fire had spread to the dry roadside grass. More than 2 acres of dry grass burned. Thankfully, no homes destroyed.

Please check your extinguishers for correct charges! I carry a big one in each car and the RV, and have used them several times with fires on the road or campsites (thankfully, all someone else's fire!).

Very critical point and message here, Sandy. It sounds like the people were at least aware of the dangers and had a unit, but too bad it was not working properly.

Ouch! That doesn't look like an inexpensive unit, either. I've only had to use mine once and then it was on someone else's truck, but I was sure glad I had it and it worked.
