There we were sitting at our table eating our "bush breakfast" when I noticed this young Lion walking towards.our guides had mot seen it :frown:

We thought it would be best to abandon breakfast (it was not very nice)and get back in our vehicle.

Although this looks more like a large female it was as we discovered after it walked past Male

Why it had no beginnings of a mane is beyond me.

Taken on Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania

500mm F4 MkII

His coloration certainly blends in with the dried grass environment, I can understand why he went undetected - until this. He really looks ticked off, with bad intent. I would dump my cheerios and get in the landrover too. A fine image in every way, no nits. Would work as a vertical too but I like it in this format.

I would drop my favorite breakfast burrito seeing this guy headed my way! Excellent image, composition and DOF really work well. The pose and facial expression with ears back say get in the vehicle-fast. Great job. :toast:

Vrad,
Thanks very much for your kind comment, we left a sausage behind but unsurprisingly the Lion was not interested
