After seeing the flash floods enveloping Northern New Mexico in the weather today, I could not help but try to imagine what this scene looks like with flood runoffs.

A fine comp with the "s" curve thrown in. Another excellent conversion, as well. And, the detail again is superb. I sure wouldn't want to be there during a rainstorm upstream!

A fine composition with really interesting detail. The light is a bit harsh, but it working plenty well enough in this one. Good choice on the conversion to B&W.

Rick,

Another fine b&w. Perhaps not as compelling as your previous, but still you do a great job in crafting a nature story out of this as the wash and flow of where the runoff goes when it does rain, is very evident and I think you've crafted this very well.

The only thing I can comment on would be I'm torn about the amount of sky. I think for the near/far distance thing, it works, but to my eye I'm just wishing for a bit more up top. Not much at all since it's apparent there's nothing else of value in the sky above, but just from a space perspective. No biggie.

Another good bw from the Bisti badlands. First of all I appreciate your decision to give us a unique look at this area. I love to walk down a sandy wash where the flow traces have left their mark and the smell of sage is in the air. This image has captured that for me in a very real way. Very nicely done, Rick :toast: Chet

What a rugged looking place this is and a place where you need to be a hardy soul to survive. I think you did a great job bring that out with this image, Rick. Your b&w conversion works great! The large version looks full of textures and detail.
