The Wood anemone is a true harbinger of spring and one of the first plants to gently color the dull brownish forest soil after winter.
Nikon D300s @ 150 mm, iso 200, F 2.8, 1/800 sec, on a beanbag.

Comments and critiques are welcome and much appreciated.

I really like this image, Sandra. It sets a very nice calm and dreamy mood. The soft focus makes this very painterly. Nicely composed and exposed.

The muted colors with just enough detail in the leaves, the simple white flower and the pleasing composition make this a very painterly image. The out of focus elements are well chosen. Well done, Sandra!

Sandra - Love that foggy feel to the frame through which that flower emerges so nicely. Very artistic frame. :toast:

I like the softness of this image, Sandra. Is that oof foreground vegetation-or post processing? A lovely composition.

Thank you all for your comments. It is much appreciated.
@ Dennis: the foreground is vegetation. There is no post processing involved.
