Dwarf Spirea flowers

I have a small Spirea bush that is actually not doing that great, but it did have some nice blooms. They are very low to the ground so this is a ground level shot using extension tubes on my 180mm macro lens.

Canon 60D. 180mm macro lens plus extension tubes. F/3.5 for 1/25 sec. ISO 320. Tripod mounted at ground level, natural lighting.

Ha! There's a great blue to add to the patriot colors! Lovely color comb and light. Nice bokeh and wash of colors to frame the in-focus flowers, too. Beautiful!

Oh, this is so nice, Carolyn! The sharp blue flowers against the green and blue wash is outstanding. BTW, my wife's uncle (Rod Pierce) was the Episcopal priest there in Buckingham for many years.

Thanks for adding the blue, Carolyn! An excellent job on this. I really like the diagonal composition and the dof with the extension tubes is perfect.

Gorgeous colors, and the blue frame really adds a lovely touch. Love the diagonal stem and the flowers along it at all stages.

Nice job with the selective focus. It lets that one stem stand out while including a fine wash of oof green and blue to tell a more complete story.

Very pretty shot, Carolyn! Love the comp and the way the blue looks-- robust-- even in the dreamy looking crammed and oof parts. Against the bright green, it's a marvel. Very well captured and crafted.

Carolyn - Very pretty. Great use of shallow DOF for an artistic effect.
