This Oregon Mule Deer was a sight to behold with those big ears flapping at the flies swarming around its head. I was sitting on my tailgate changing lenses as it wandered up to within 20 yards from me.

Neat catch with the stalk of grass (picking it's teeth??), the flies buzzing, and a nicely oof background.

Nice shot Rick. You've filled the frame, have blurred the background, and left space in the direction he's looking. Nice sharp eye too; you even got the flies buzzing, which certainly adds interest to the shot.

You have captured a very interesting nature image. Deer in the shade works here. This image is loaded with character. The deer looks tattered and tormented, grizzled and old. She seems to be relaxed enough to be interested in something besides the photographer.

Great close-up capture of a wild animal, Rick. Unique backward looking pose and good details of his face. I like the interesting addition of the pesky flies and the grass in the deers' mouth. The nicely blurred lighter background serves as a great backdrop for the deer, and also being able to view the flies fairly clearly. My only thought would be to add a bit of warmth to the image and possibly lighten the deer a bit also. I like your overall comp and the way you have filled the frame. This kind of unexpected photo opportunity can be a real joy to experience.
