You have a ton of woods lore in this image and in that respect it is a lot of fun. I tried to count the growth rings on the sawn log. I couldn't exactly, but it is obviously very old. I don't know where Funks Grove is, But the deer is whitetail and oak leaves litter the ground, so, eastern. The deer seems to be transitioning to a summer pelage. The little white flowers, Clintonia, Montia, or something else? Your composition is definitely interesting. The doe looks kind of nervous between the log and the tree trunk with her cocked ears. and she looks vulnerable. Maybe this would look a bit less like the deer was about to be grabbed in a vise if you cropped off some of that vertical tree. On the other hand, this would lose some uniqueness.

The startled/nervous pose (presumably from seeing you poke a camera out the window at her is neat and the lighting and environment are also very good. I too would like to see less of the tree on the left.

I like the pose of the deer you captured. It's like she suddenly stopped to see what was going on. . .or is about to take off. Looks like an interesting place to visit with the huge trees and the promise of emerging wildflowers. Cropping out about 1/2 of the tree on the left may be helpful.
