Avocet in Flight
by Roger Kirchen
This is an American Avocet (Recurvirostra americana) from the archives and processed using my new software (some on trial). There are not many Avocets around this year, and the same applies to the general bird population.
Light was variable and I had set a high ISO to avoid potential motion blur thinking that it's a lot easier to try to denoise than to deblur. In retrospect, I could easily have used half the ISO for this shot.
Canon 7D, Sigma 150-500 at 500 mm, ISO 1000, f/11, 1/2500 sec., HH. PP in LR5, PS-CC and NIK suite.
All comments are much appreciated. Thanks for looking and thanks for all your comments on my other photos.
