Palo duro Earless Lizard

Palo duro Canyon is home to the Lesser Earless Lizard.

On this day last August it was 125 degrees on the canyon floor and absent of rain for over a year according to the Park Rangers.
The deep red desert floor is a result of the Red Rivers impact on forming the canyon eons ago.

Well, almost looks like you took all the suggestions for improvement in the last post and incorporated them into this photo, very nice. Lovely environmental portrait with some great curves and flow to the composition. :toast:

He's a beauty Rick.
Composition works really well for me with the dead tree flowing from bottom to top. Great that you've got the whole tail in shot. Good rich colours too. :toast:

Very nice Rick; you made excellent use of the beautiful perch and the curved tail compliments that very well. A pity we are looking at its shaded side, but at least you have good shadow detail. :toast:

Nice capture here Rick! Too bad the sun wasn't coming from the opposite direction, but we can't control where a subject will pop up. I believe you have a Collared Lizard here, possibly an Eastern Collared Lizard. Thanks for sharing!

Nice comp with the sweeping 's' curves, both subject & perch Rick.
Great detail & light control, well done :toast:

Nice composition, especially accenting the curves as you did.

I echo comments echoing excellent composition for a lizard subject, using curves of tail and log perch.

Nice catch Rick. I really like the colors of the lizard and the shapes of the tail and the stump it is on. Nicely done and well composed. It seems just a touch bright overall.
