The Raining Trees!

Damnation Creek Trail was the most prolific area for Rhodies(even though there are none in this shot) that I encountered on my trip up north a few weeks ago. As I was making my way out to the trailhead, a family with a little girl about 4 or 5 was starting their hike in.
I heard her say "look, the trees are raining"! Hence the title.

These were the best all around conditions I experienced that trip. No real fog, and no beams of light shooting through the canopy. Mostly rain, but fun anyway!

I had my wife with me, celebrating our 19th anniversary. Now that's the real achievement. Finding someone that likes me for 19 minutes, let alone loving me for 19 years!!!!!!!

Chris,

The fog creates a nice depth to the photo. Rich color as well, makes this a winner. And congratulation on 19 years! That is awesome, 19 more to come :toast:

Very inviting image of the redwood forest, Chris. The light is excellent for detail/color, and the fog creates an evocative mood.

I sure am enjoying the sense of mystery as those glorious greens fade into the trees and fog. Wonderfully nice, gentle, and inviting.

This is a beautiful shot, Chris! You captured the rainy conditions and mood so well with this shot. The fog adds such a wonderful look and feel here too. I love these quiet and peaceful scenes. Nice work guy!! :toast:
Congrats on the 19 years! Nice work on that too! I sailed past that number several years ago now and looking for lots more to come...

Congrats!

Very cool scene---I can see/feel the moisture. I don't know about others, but these are some of my all time favorite conditions to hike in. Great image, Chris!

This looks like it comes from a storybook sans the elves etc. Nice enchanted effect.

Chris,

Gorgeous! While your previous post captured a mood and naturalness to the forest, this one is classically dreamy. The fog of course is a wonderful backdrop for the dreamy mood, but you've also done a great job including the ferns and clarity up front. Just a wonderfully well balanced image from the redwoods.

Congrats on the anniversary! Or at least congrats to Pat for putting up with you all these years!

Very nice woodland landscape Chris, the receding trees give it some really nice depth and the fog creates the mood.
