Rosy on the Wing

Roseate Spoonbill from the rookery at High Island, TX. I can shoot these birds all day long, they are an endless study in color and form. I'm lucky to live close to this phenomenal location which gives great access to Rosy's in flight during the spring.

Very nice wing position and angle. I also like the slight pano crop. I think it works very well for this image.

Neatcapture Randy. Great pose with the eye contact and upturned wingtip feathers.
To me the colours oook a bit over saturated. However I'm not familiar with the bird so I could be mistaken.

Perfect timing to capture this wing position with the upturned feathers. Thanks for sharing. I have never seen one of the birds.

What a stellar photo Randy. I love the curl of the wing tips, the feet sticking out from the wings, the beautiful wingspread that shows off the colors and nice eye contact. All of that along with a perfect crop, nice light and totally sharp makes for a winner in my book! :toast:

Magnificent flight shot... love the pale blue sky and the sharp colors present on the bird. The DOF is excellent too
