I like the result a lot. Very nice subject and perch.

I can't recall ever seeing such a clean, perfect view of a swallowtail caterpillar, Howard. Excellent work with the flash unit as the light looks very even notwithstanding the flash, and the detail and colors are excellent. :toast:

Nice, clean composition and colors. That flash work is excellent - blends well with the natural light.

I went through and took a closer look at some of my other frames.
So this is the improved version, better angle on the off camera flash.
And a bit softer top light, the sun was partially blocked by a cloud here..

Gorgeous specimen and great background. The second version is indeed better with the softer light. Thanks for working on the improvement.

The colors and details are great, Howard. The lighting looks very good and natural. I've been looking for these in my yard, but my Queen Anne's lace seems to have disappeared this year. The differences in the repost are very subtle but nice.

Beautiful, Howard. I, too, prefer not to use flash if I can get soft overcast light, but this lighting is subtle and nice. Good control of that.
