Great Blue Heron with big Brown Bullhead.

This heron dove like a Tern to catch the fish.

Nikon D300; 200-400 @ 200: f4.5@1/500th; ISO 320; 50% crop; HH from kayak.

The bird looks OK to me, but the BG bothers me.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

I like the gaping mouth on the fish. The BG is busy, but toning down the saturation and exposure on the BG might help keep attention on the bird and the fish. Of course zooming to 400 would have helped too, but we don't always have time for that. Better a cropped shot, than no shot at all.

Very nice capture. Decent detail, despite the heavy crop. If it were mine, I'd pull the saturation down a bit, and maybe try adjusting the Highlights to pick up some detail in the whites.

That's a tough bg to work with, Tom. Beyond my processing skills. I like the wing position and the fish.

I agree with Dennis's comments. IMHO you have an image that is a bit different from most flying GBH shots and if anything I would consider a tighter crop. Thanks for sharing.
