A large seastack reflects the glorious color of the setting sun on the wet sand near Cannon Beach, ORegon

I'm digging this. Nice study of light silhouette and form. :toast:

I do think it would still fly as good as it already does with slightly less saturation.

A truly gorgeous capture here, Mike. I really like the very clean reflective water & beach area leading right up to the stack. Nice work as always.

Mike,

I'm with Paul on the beaautiful reflection and glassy surface and I think you chose a good balance between the glassy sand and the sky. Saturation is pretty strong for my taste and I'm torn about the silhouetted sea stack (is this really a "stack" or just a big rock? I really don't know, but it doesn't matter really.) Anyway, the stack is pretty big in the frame and the bigger something is that is so dark, the more I think we need detail. But as a pure sihouette it works too simple for the graphics and simplicity. It's mostly the saturation though, and that of course is a personal preference.

Amazing color here Mike The reflections are very well done. We were on Cannon Beach in May. We enjoyed it a whole lot. Chet

Can't beat the sunsets at Cannon! Nice simple shot--now lose the contrail and you're good to go!

Comp and colors look great to me. The contrail distracts just a little, but I'm really digging the subtle lines in the water.

Love those strong, bold colors and the placement of the silhouetted seastack in your composition. The play of blues and golds really works well. I might try and get rid of what looks like a contrail in the upper left though. Just a thought of course. An outstanding image in my opinion.

I like the drama of silhouettes, especially at the wide shallow beaches along the Oregon Coast. I agree about a little less saturation, And maybe even a little less contrast. I say that mainly because that would let the silhoutted stack be the dominant contrast in the shot.

Love the color Mike. I thought the black seastack took up a bit too much frame, but the color really carries it.
