Canary's Edge #2

Here's a slightly different view of the runoff from Canary Springs (Yellowstone's, Mammoth Hot Springs) from the one I posted earlier this week in the Weekly Challenge. Since last October, the main pool carrying much of Canary Spring's water has stopped flowing and all of the flow is concentrated at the edge of a steep drop off. These pools are about halfway down that slope. Processed with TK's triple plays and some luminosity painting. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 + 1.4TE @ 280 mm, f/16/ 1/200s, iso 200, tripod and polarizer)

I haven't seen the previous Mark, but love the colors, and the depth by including that portion of the BG. Sharp as can be. Sweet.

Mark, I'm really liking this capture. The perspective you've chosen along with the wonderful colors here is very nice indeed. The vertical image appears to have been the perfect choice too. Excellent work.

Beautiful image, Mark. Probably the best Yellowstone shot I've seen in a long time. I love the misty bg. natural colors and excellent light. Very nice.

What impresses me the most here is your processing. More specifically your handling of the bright whites. On my calibrated monitor, they look terrific.

Excellent capture of this amazing geologic feature, Mark. As already noted, lots of detail notwithstanding the contrasting light and colors.

Mark,

A lot going on in this one, but you've certainly crafted a view that showcases the fascinating colors and geologic features of Yellowstone. I'm really interested and attracted to the upper light/whiter formations - and that little turquoise blue pool is too cool. If it were mine I might even consider a square crop just emphasizing those upper features and colors.

A different view of an iconic place Mark. Wonderful detail and I especially like the turquoise on the top bluff.
