This guy was real close as he came by the boat still at the dock. Was not ready at all but still managed a few shots. HH, cropped vertical at 40% of FF.

Mike: This image has a lot of impact to to the "in your face" nature of it. Not quite sure what happened in processing, but I would expect much more detail in the feathers and even in the fish. Looking at both the smaller and larger versions, I just don't see it. There is a visible halo around the upper wing. Was noise reduction applied globally? ISO 400 on the 7D shouldn't need much if the image didn't need a significant exposure adjustment in post processing.

Whoa, looks like he's going to drop that fish right in your lap. Nice job grabbing a shot of this action. I also would expect more detail with these technicals, but it is an interesting shot.

Pretty good results for not being prepared, Mike. I usually miss completely. Great angle.

Mike that is a great capture - well don to have reacted so well. But the colour and sharpness look a bit off on my monitor. I'm no techie so I'll assume Keith's comments in that regard are appropriate

I agree with Keith on the IQ of this otherwise interesting image. My guess is this had a lot of exposure adjustment via shadow/highlight.

Given the circumstances, I'd say this looks pretty good. I would probably not have even gotten a shot off. If I did, it most likely would have been of a blurry tail going out of the frame. So congrats on a brave try and a decent shot.
