Not a very pleasant name, but pretty at twilight. China Camp State Park, San Francisco Bay near San Rafael, Ca.

Canon 5d,M3, ISO100, 150mm, f/16, 0.5 sec.

Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques.

A nice view here Kathy, I quite like the subtleness of the colour in the sky, but the smaller version really does not do this justice enough. There are some white spots on the hills in the bg which are a little bit distracting to the eye imo, but otherwise a very nice and subtle shot!

A peaceful scene. Nice color gradient. A longer exposure might even out the ripple to make it even more peaceful - that is if you like the effect..

Rat(s) or not, this a great looking scene, Kathy. Gotta love the pastels throughout the image. Any horizontals to go with this and maybe the island offset to one side or the other? If not, this is still an excellent image and should make a very nice print too. Looks like a neat place to really take a lot of various composition shots.

Kathy,

Living in the Bay Area for nearly 30 years and I can only vaguely remember having heard or seen this little island. I think it may have been in a news report. Anyway, love the pastels here and I think you've done a wonderful job in capturing this "bayscape."

Very minor, but there appears to be a very slight ccw rotation - but I'm being picky. And technically, those white specs on the horizon are probably Albany or Berkeley.... especially more visible in the larger version. Try and keep that in mind for next time. Regardless, still a lovely image.

I really like the gradiant of warm to cool pastel colors in this image, Kathy. My only suggestion would be to clone out the buildings on the far shoreline. I also like John's suggestion about using a longer SS.

Such a nice, peaceful scene. Love the lavender pastel tone at this time of day and think you captured the look very well. This is a common comment for me, so must reflect personal taste, but I'd favor a little less sky. Gives more importance to the island and more contrast in color between it and its surroundings.
